I have a question. Why do we think that CLEAN, GOOD OLE’ FASHIONED Christian entertainment cannot be fun? I will tell you why. Cause back in the day...it never used to be fun! I ain’t gonna lie! Remember growing up and going to or hearing about a Christian function? Yea, that is what I thought. But that was a different time. That is when Gospel rap sounded corny. A gospel movie was cheesy and gospels songs…well they were just that…gospel songs.
Today things have changed. A Christian function is just as entertaining as a secular one. Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary and J-Moss have revolutionized Christian music and it can be heard banging out car stereos across America. We live in a different time now. It is time for you to catch up with the rest of us! Add to the fact the SPOKEN FUNK has been Christian for years and you have enjoyed it every Sunday…week in and week out.
Spoken Funk has not changed. There is nothing new about what we are doing. For the many of you that have come (Christians or non) you know how I roll. I don’t hide anything. We do not exclude anyone. All I want for you is to have a good time. I don’t want you to think that when you come to Spoken Funk we are going to have an alter call and force you to join the church. Every poem is not gonna have the word “SAVED” in it. Every song is not gonna be by the Tabernacle Choir! And I am not gonna end each night with a sermon. That is not my job. My job is to provide you with quality, fun, clean entertainment. And I can say for certain that we have been doing that for almost four years now.
I need your support. I know times are hard. If Spoken Funk doesn’t pick up in attendance these next few weeks, we are gonna be forced to close the doors on the FUNK. And you know what happens when you lock up FUNK in a small room. IT STINKS. Any and everyone that is reading this…please come on out to the show THIS SUNDAY. I don’t care who you are. If you like to laugh and have a good time…SPOKEN FUNK is the place for you. Let’s laugh together.
