My latest poem.

My daughter is a typical three year old.

Well, so you would think.

She makes up songs about how she loves you soooo, soooo much!

She cries when she can't wear a dress.

She wants to have a meal alllllll the time and pouts for long periods

when she can't eat eat EVERYTIME daddy eat eats.

Yes, I know what I just said.

She smiles on cue, like she knows what to do to make you forget

that she just did something that makes you want to wring her neck!

Just when you get mad at her, she smirks and has a twinkle in her eye,

that makes you just want to cry, cause you love her so so much.

She melts your heart with a kiss.  And sometimes just out the blue

she runs up to you and tells you that she misses you,

even though you have been sitting with her the whole time.

It makes you wonder are you giving her all of your attention

when you are with her.

She wants to only sleep in her night night dress, even though,

it is not really a night night dress,

but throws a three year old fit if you ask her to sleep in anything else.

She loves acting like she is frozen

and can only be unfrozen if someone kisses her and says UNFREEZE.

Anyhoo, what I am saying is...by just looking in from the outside,

my daughter Genesis seems to be a normal Toddler.

WRONG!!!!

First of all, with a name like Genesis, she can’t be normal.

And really, how many kids do you know that are normal?

She’s really a super hero or super toddler

or super something that fights the bad guys in her sleep.

The first one to do so, I might add!

Never before has the world seen a little angel such as mine

turn herself into a enemy of crime!

While the rest of the world is off going night night,

she is going off to fight fight!!!

Like-Like I wouldn't believe it myself, if I didn’t witness this first hand.

Maybe her night night dress is her costume and

every time the sun goes down, she protects us.

Now, I am not quite sure how she does it

by still managing NOT to leave the house, or even my bed rather,

But, someone other than her daddy has got to be paying the price.

She tosses, turns, kicks, screams, "NO MICHAEL JACKSON!!!"

Then she pushes me out of harms way,

as I lay dangling from the side of the bed hanging on for dear life.

Oh, save me Genesis, save me!

But, there is only so much that a Super toddler can do.

I must gather my own strength to save myself

as she finishes up the night night battling swiper no swipping

and the evil toys that lurk in the darkness!

She doesn't want my help during these periods.

My job is to just stay out of harms way.

Yet, every time, I somehow GET IN THE WAY

And become the victim of numerous kicks, punches

and blows to the head and body area.

Look, there is baby crime that needs to be dealt with

and dealt with swiftly!!

If I have to suffer a few cuts & bruises & lack of precious sleep, so be it.

I already know that the world

is a better place since she came around!

She is SUPER GENESIS!

Complete with her own theme song that she made up!

The toddler superhero and I love her even more so for being so brave and for doing what I, her daddy, could never do.

2 hollered!!!.
